What are screw blades?

What are screw blades and how are they produced?

Screw blades commonly known as screw conveyor blades, these are single segments which, when connected together, form spirals or shaftless screws. The production process starts with specialized software, which defines the parameters of laser firing cutting and blade bending operation. The CNC machine ensures precision and high quality of the cold bending process.

Steel used for screw coils

Depending on the requirements and design assumptions, structural steel, chromium-nickel steel and extremely strong steel with high wear resistance of Hardox type are most often used to produce screw coils. Screw blades produced from Hardox makes the steel coil resistant even to impacts and ensures transport of materials with high external friction coefficient.

Application of screw blades

Manufactured steel coils are mainly used for:

  • production of screw conveyors,
  • drilling screws and soil drilling rigs,
  • cooling and heating screws,
  • silo unloading and loading installations.
  • furnace feeders,
  • screw presses,
  • centrifuges,
  • stirrers/mixers,
  • spreaders,
  • dryers,
  • feed trucks.

The use of screw blades is very wide. In this article we present a small scale of the use of screw blades- more information on it can be found on our subpage under the Area of application tab.
